Introducing Homeway Sage — your free, private, and intelligent Home Assistant Assist add-on! Sage is powered by cutting-edge AI models from OpenAI, DeepSeek, Google, Azure, Amazon, and Anthropic to build a lifelike assistant experience. Sage can be used from the Home Assistant Assist tool on the dashboard or new voice devices like Home Assistant Voice!
Sage’s powerful services create a lifelike personal assistant:
- Free Assist Chat – Sage uses OpenAI’s ChatGPT 4, DeekSeek’s R1, Anthropic’s Claude, and Google Gemini to power your chat Home Assistant Assist or Home Assistantnant Voice. Our intelligent LLM chat includes the ability to search the web, look up weather info, get real-time sports scores, and even create chat memories to customize your Assistant!
- Free Text-To-Speech – Sage uses the latest multilingual speech models from OpenAI, Google, Azure, AWS, and more. These models bring your Home Assistant Voice to life with lifelike speech synthesis. The best part—you can choose from over 50 voices!
- Free Speech-To-Text – Enables your Home Assistant Voice satellite to listen to you using a low-latency, multilanguage speech-to-text model.
Homeway is committed to your privacy, and Sage is no exception. We have built Sage in the most privacy forward way possible. We send the minimal amount of anonymized data required to each AI provider and immediately delete the data when the processing is done. See our privacy policy for complete details. Homeway is 100% community-supported, so if you want to help, consider becoming a supporter!
Sage is built on our worldwide server network using a secure real-time streaming protocol, which enables all of Sage’s services to be extremely fast. We hyper-optimized our server logic to maintain connections with OpenAI, Azure, and Amazon AWS to ensure the lowest latency possible. You have to try it to believe it!
