Free Remote Access
Local Access is a new feature of Homeway that allows free, secure, and private remote access to any LAN web service like Node-RED, AdGuard, Unraid, PiHole, or anything else. Homeway is a Home Assistant community project that aims to provide free and secure remote access for the community.
Homeway is 100% community-supported. We use the supporter funds to pay for service costs, development costs, business expenses, and more. As we receive more funds from our community, we plan to raise the limits on all accounts so everyone benefits!
Secure & Private
Homeway’s remote access is secured by industry-leading encryption and web protocols. Our local plugin creates a fully encrypted tunnel to our services without port forwarding or a complex network setup.
Your Homeway account is secured by your strong password, third-party provider login, optional two-factor code-based auth, and one-time email code challenges. We do everything in our power to keep your account secure and your services private.
Homeway has a strict privacy policy. We will never sell your data to any other service or company. Our goal isn’t to make you the product; it’s to build a community tool for safe remote access.
Final Thoughts
We are always trying to push the boundry of tech and create useful features for the community at Homeway. We are very excited about this and all of our latest features. To learn more about Local Access and get started, see our Local Access site.
